Letter from the city

Got a letter today from the city. Inconsistency in regards to the elevation curves. I should have seen that as well, but more importantly, it should never have left the architect in that shape.

Calling architect. He tells me he'll fix it quickly. Good.

Design finally done

The architect was finally done today (after getting the drawings PE stamped) and after a quick review, I went to the city to file for a permit.

Intake fee of some $300 paid and quick review by Darrel Harmon who also granted the application "fast track" status (meaning that the entire process can take as little as two-three weeks compared to normally over eigth weeks).

Now it is just "wait and see"...

As a side note, I always wonder how the ones who are attacking remodeling projects WITHOUT filing for permits manages to get away with it. In WA state these days, on "Form 17", you have to indicate whether you have done work that was not permitted and inspected, and if you answer "no", and a later owner finds out that you had work done w/o permiting it, it will come back to haunt you.
